Disney Dining Reservations Update: New Browser Process Explained | My Disney Experience App Changes (2026)

Disney App Update: A Tea-rrific Surprise with a Twist!

A sudden change in the reservation process has left Disney fans curious and eager for answers. This morning, while attempting to secure a spot for the highly anticipated Garden View Lounge Tea Experience, we encountered an unexpected detour in the My Disney Experience app.

Usually, advanced dining reservations are a seamless affair within the app. But here's where it gets interesting: today, February 19th, the app directed us to an external browser, mirroring the park reservation process. This change seems to be linked to the launch of reservations for the Garden View Lounge, which opened today. The previous day, reservations were made through the app as expected.

The demand for this unique experience is undeniable, with slots disappearing within an hour of the 6:30 a.m. opening. At a price of $79 for adults and $49 for children, this prepaid tea experience is a hot ticket!

And this is the part most users might have missed: when trying to reserve a dining slot, a pop-up instructed us to check availability for this and other dining experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. This led us to a browser outside the app, a notable deviation from the usual process.

As we navigated the reservation process, selecting party size, date, and time as usual, we were presented with location options, including the four theme parks, nearby resorts, and Disney Springs.

But wait, there's more to discuss! Is this a temporary adjustment to manage high demand, or a permanent change to the app? What do you think about this unexpected app behavior? Share your thoughts below, and let's keep the conversation brewing!
